Golden Beach on Huangdao Island is widely considered Qingdao’s best beach — 3.5km of fine, golden sand wide enough to never feel crowded. Water warms up earlier than north-facing beaches; swimming is comfortable June through September. Facilities: public showers (Y=10), chair rentals (Y=30/day), snack stalls. Unlike city beaches, Golden Beach feels spacious and natural. The cross-bay ferry from Qingdao’s west coast takes 20 minutes, followed by a short bus or taxi. For families, this is the best beach day trip from Qingdao.

How to Get There
Ferry from Qingdao Ferry Terminal to Huangdao (20 min, Y=15). Then Bus 18 or taxi (15 min). Or taxi across Jiaozhou Bay Bridge (30-40 min, Y=80-100).

Best: Jun-Sep for swimming. May and Oct for walks.
